Sex, Porn and Lies
Porn/sex industry and its Workers: the difference explained
This article is about sex workers and the industry they represent, also the lies society preaches to discourage it. Also, I will explain my view on the sex workers what they do and the discrimination and judgement they face at times.
Let me start by defining what the term Porn means to me, it is the act of performing sex acts on camera with strangers for money. There is nothing wrong with it, it should not be taboo or labeled as shameful. Also, it should not be viewed as something only drug addicts do or lowlifes who cannot do any better in life.
The misleading misconstrued lie is that its a bad thing to be a sex worker because its improper as one is selling one's body for money, therefore, society dictates that the proper thing to do is go be a sheep in a herd where you blindly follow your sheeple around you to be accepted, meanwhile suffer in the hands of the system as it will dictate your existence and based on it, will be your life with no option for you to change.
Today’s world seems to be evolving into a different reality than what people are used to seeing, these people are what I will term the traditionalist, conservatives who are somehow entitled to push their views on others using the media as a tool to control and ensure people follow what they deem normal. I truly believe they are simply scared of the rapid evolution of interconnections in the sex industry that are happening world wide and they can’t handle it so they become fear instillers. It’s quite easy to demonize something one is scared of or does not want to accept as it does not compute with what you deem normal, but how about let people have a choice, in the end it’s the person’s life and no one else’s.
Oftentimes people have to hide who they really are just so they can keep their job, rich marriage and fit into their circle of people around them; they have a mental fear of being shunned and judged as bad so they end up living a double life, which in my opinion never works, the truth always comes out.
The real truth is the people preaching “righteousness” are the ones who are caught doing the most extraordinary and bizarre acts imaginable. My question: who are they to judge? Who gave them the right to judge others and what choices they make in life?
A woman’s body is hers to do as she pleases and no one should dictate this choice. It seems that it is automatically assumed the woman who is choosing to be in the sex industry is automatically associated with drugs, alcohol and anything shady, and she cannot fit into what society deems as acceptable. This has changed and is not so today, which is a great change in my opinion as sexual liberties for women are always a challenge.
People think its sex for money, and view it either as taboo or selling ones body for money as entertainment, well maybe, but perhaps the person doing it not only enjoys it and does it safely with a partner they trust and there are rules and boundaries in place, power to the woman. Now, some women do it because they like it, it gives them a sense of liberation and youth. Why the stigma? Fear. Conservatives and traditionalists fear the unfamiliar and the different as it conflicts with their beliefs.
Every advertisement or billboard seen on a highway is 90% sexually geared because sex sells. All the people in the ad are picture perfect, is that supposed to be sexual in nature?
How about putting a real person who is average looking and use them to promote a product like cars, clothing; would it sell the same way? I believe it would sell better as the general populace will be able to relate and identify with more readily than some picture perfect airbrushed smiling person.
Sex workers (people who work in an industry relating to sex, porn escort, cam model) do not generally see themselves as doing porn even if society views them as such. Below are my definitions of the various forms of sex work as I see it:
Porn: sexually explicit acts with multiple people in a movie, or magazine publications that elicit or stimulate sex and be paid money.
Escort: performs sexual acts in a hotel or residence in exchange for money, or acts as a companion to another person generally the opposite sex. Independent escorts choose their own clients via a website and with a screening process on it, she may also choose other venues such as cam online as well. Companion on a date with a person not necessarily ending up having sex is a defined as escort as well.
Works for an agency: agency provides the clientele and locales for the sexual acts to take place and the woman is paid through the agency. The agency acts a screening of the clients to ensure they are not predators. I have not done this but have heard that they overwork the girls, generally the woman has to be extremely young in age, and physically skinny.
In the old days, as I have seen prostitutes would stand outside of sex clubs and wait for John’s to approach them, these girls were also strippers of the club. Others worked with a “pimp” someone who got the clients and dealt with the money aspect by collecting the money from the John and after the sexual acts were performed the girl would get her cut. These no longer exist today, as everything became automated and regulated so most prostitutes are independent so they make their money in its entirety and have their own website.
Online cam model: A man or woman doing sexual shows live on a cam site one on one or in a group session and yes they are paid for it, they advertise themselves and take requests, from the comfort and privacy of their own home. Many sites have had this feature for quite some time only now, it’s regulated where the models have to be licensed. There are rules for the models to follow in terms of appearance and what to say, how to attract clients, what to wear. Models have their specified rules as to what they are willing to do and not and these sites generally promote the model who they feel generates them the traffic and has the attitude they like which makes this a form of online sex competitive and much time needs to be dedicated to really make money, also, models have to accept catering to people online which can be tiresome.
Contractual porn: This is quite a large portion of the sex industry as there are numerous sites who hire by contract men and woman of various ages and physiques to engage in sexual acts in movies. During the early nineties there were models who were known as contract girls, these were men and women who worked in the porn industry under contracts that stated who they were willing to work with, how much they would earn if it was per scene or per movie, what acts they were willing to do. Now, at the time I believe women were paid more than men as they were at higher risk of pregnancy and STD. As time evolved, every model had to undergo testing for all STDs including AIDS. This has changed in some ways today, as for the most part the models do pot shot shoots and make a lump sum of money so they have more options rather than being tied down to a contract.
Having defined the various niches of the sex industry, I notice that many sex workers have voiced that they would never work in a normal everyday job as they don’t want a boss on their shoulder controlling and yelling at them, pressuring them to work harder and longer just to make that boss richer. With today’s cost it does not pay to work in a normal job as you are not paid adequately for all the work you actually put in. The real money is being made by the owner/boss while the worker earns a meager salary and has no real time to enjoy anything in life as the job takes up all their time and energy and there is no balance between time and money.
The sex industry has now become regulated and viewed as a profession and not just for low level con artists and addicts. This change came because sex workers are needed as entertainers who earn well and can provide an essential service.
Today's world sex is not a taboo subject, its actually practiced and talked about openly everywhere, also it’s become normal for a woman to wear skimpy clothing and not be a prostitute, this is her fashion choice. I believe there will always be a constant battle between conservative society traditionalists and the alternative people. Another issue that has drastically changed is the plummeting pregnancy and marriage playhouse rate, as the cost has risen and opportunities to live a more productive and career oriented life with money making opportunities and lifestyles. This is contrary to the system or society, because it cannot function without sheeple, who blindly follow, except the problem is the system is impossible even if you succumb to it as the rules change based on its likes.
Now, real alternative people who have branched away from the system and have realized that there are other ways to live and sex workers have chosen a better way for them to live their life and actually enjoy perks. I have realized that professional status means doors open up easier if one belongs where they are, they don’t have to necessarily like their profession but be good at it.
